Apprenticeship Testimonial: DENSO Manufacturing
At DENSO Manufacturing, investing in people is a key part of preparing for the future of the automotive industry. As a global leader in advanced automotive technology, DENSO continues to develop innovative products and manufacturing processes that support the evolving mobility landscape, including autonomous and electrified vehicles. To ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation, DENSO is committed to developing highly skilled trades professionals through its Registered Apprenticeship program.
With support from the State Apprenticeship Expansion (SAE) Grant and partnership with Michigan Works! Southwest, DENSO has been able to strengthen training opportunities for apprentices in Electrical, Mechanical, and Tool and Die trades. The funding provided through the grant helps apprentices access critical resources such as off-campus classes, specialized tools, and proper personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring they are fully prepared for the technical demands of their careers.
DENSO’s four-year apprenticeship program provides participants with hands-on training and classroom instruction designed to build the skills needed for long-term success in the skilled trades. Apprentices gain practical experience working alongside experienced professionals while learning the technical knowledge required to maintain and advance modern manufacturing systems. These skills will be essential as the automotive industry continues to evolve, particularly as manufacturers invest in electrified vehicles and advanced mobility technologies.
The program also creates clear career pathways for apprentices, offering opportunities for advancement and professional growth within the company. By combining structured learning with real-world experience, the apprenticeship prepares participants to become highly capable trades professionals who contribute to DENSO’s ongoing innovation and operational excellence.
“Our mission is to help our apprentices gain the education and experience they need to become the skilled trades professionals of the future,” said Denise Morley, Advanced Human Resources Assistant at the North America Technical Training Center. “With the support of the State of Michigan and Michigan Works! Southwest, we are able to provide the resources and training our apprentices need to succeed.”
Through strong partnerships and continued investment in workforce development, DENSO is building a talented pipeline of skilled trades professionals who will help shape the future of manufacturing and mobility.
