Job Search Safety Message

Job Seekers should exercise caution if approached for a job interview via Yahoo Messenger or if they are asked to cash a check as a condition of employment as these requests are examples of commonly used employment scams. Michigan Works! and Pure Michigan Talent Connect (PMTC) work diligently to ensure organizations posting jobs on PMTC are legitimate employers but unfortunately impostors have been known to try to use a legitimate employer’s name to try to lure job seekers into a scam.

For more examples of common employment related scams and advice on safe online job searching, visit Online Job Search Safety provided by Pure Michigan Talent Connect.

If an individual or employer encounters any suspicious activity, we ask that you please report it immediately to Talent Connect.
